Tournament Recap: 2nd Annual Holly Jolly Good Time
December 11, 2025
The 2nd Annual Holly Jolly Good Time Tournament took place at Drengr Axe Throwing in Bedford, TX (DFW metro) over three days, bringing together throwers from Texas, Oklahoma, and more for multiple disciplines of competition.
TL;DR (Too Long; Didn't Read)
Here's my record from each activity:
Pop Darts: 2-1
Hatchet: 3-2
Hatchet Duals: 2-2
Big Axe: 2-2
Knives: 3-2 (3rd place)
Knife Duals 2-2 (3rd place)
Tournament Highlights
Day 1: Popdarts (Friday, December 5, 2025)
View bracket
The tournament started with Drengr's first-ever Popdarts tournament. The format consisted of a 2-match round robin followed by a single elimination bracket. Entry was FREE for all competitors, with prizes including Popdarts swag and an entry to the upcoming APL Regional tournament in DFW.
My Popdarts Experience
This was my first time playing Popdarts. I went 2-0 in the round robin before losing in the single elimination bracket when Kyle Rickenbaugh hit a T-Nobber on his last throw.
Popdarts Terminology
Wigglenobber : When a popdart lands on top of another popdart. Worth twice as many points as the popdart it landed on.
T-Nobber : When a popdart lands on top of the target marker. Worth 10 points. This is what Kyle hit to beat me.
More information about Popdarts rules can be found at popdartsgame.com .
Day 2: WATL Hatchet Events (Saturday, December 6, 2025)
Saturday featured three brackets from two different WATL (World Axe Throwing League ) disciplines.
